When remote members, including overseas, join the team, it is difficult to successfully build the first communication in a situation where they do not actually meet. This time, I spoke to Yosuke Kayama, the executive officer of Rearbold Corporation, who used VoicePing to build smooth communication with members not only in Japan but also in Korea and Australia and united the team.

ToggleSupporting Sales for Emerging Markets
Can you tell us about your business?
Mr. Kayama: Reabold is a company that provides sales support. Initially, we focused on service-related products, but now we primarily work with new businesses. Many of the products we handle are in markets that do not yet exist, such as technologies in new material development or genetic testing services by large corporations. Companies often struggle with how to approach sales in these areas, and that’s where we step in.
Implementing VoicePing to Enhance Team Communication
What led you to introduce VoicePing?
Mr. Kayama: The main reason was to increase communication frequency within the team. Since our entire team works fully remotely, it was challenging for members to casually reach out and ask for help without regular face-to-face interaction.
At Reabold, we prioritize a customer-first approach and intentionally hire people with no prior sales experience. Our mission is to provide the best possible options for our clients, which means deeply understanding their perspective. As a result, many of our team members come from hospitality backgrounds, such as retail, childcare, or nursing, where strong interpersonal skills are essential.
However, this also meant that many employees were not familiar with industry knowledge, working on a computer, or even remote work itself. The lack of an easy way to ask questions was a major challenge. A virtual office seemed like the perfect solution to bridge this gap. We wanted a tool that would create a visible, open environment where team members could casually interact, just like in a physical office.
Creating a Sense of Presence Despite the Distance
Did VoicePing help solve these challenges?
Mr. Kayama: Yes, it has been incredibly beneficial. We now have over 20 members, and everyone actively uses VoicePing when they are working. Seeing others engage in conversation within the platform helps new employees feel more comfortable speaking up. Compared to other remote teams, I believe our communication level is much higher.
Our team members are spread out not just in Tokyo but also in Akita, Shiga, South Korea, and Australia. For those working remotely, being able to see their colleagues in VoicePing has significantly lowered the barrier to integrating into the organization. This is especially important for employees who have never met their colleagues in person—it helps ease their anxieties.
Additionally, we even showcase VoicePing during recruitment interviews. By sharing our screen and demonstrating how we work remotely as a team, we reassure candidates that they can collaborate effectively, no matter where they are. This has been a strong positive factor in our hiring process.

Strengthening Communication with International Talent
What do other team members think about VoicePing?
Mr. Kayama: Do you mind if I bring in a team member to answer that directly?
VoicePing: Please, go ahead!
(After a few seconds, Mr. Kayama connects with Tamura-san.)
Mr. Kayama: Tamura-san, sorry for the sudden request. We’re doing an interview with VoicePing, and I wanted to ask you something.
Tamura: Sure!
Mr. Kayama: When you first joined the company, did having VoicePing help you in any way?
Tamura: Definitely. When I needed to ask a quick question, regular communication tools like Zoom felt too formal—like making a phone call. But with VoicePing, I could casually reach out to someone, just like in a physical office. It really made things easier when I first started. Even though I was in Australia, I felt like I was working alongside my colleagues in Japan. The ability to interact naturally, as if we were playing a game together, was really helpful.
Mr. Kayama: That’s a great point. Thanks for your time!
VoicePing: Thank you for your input!
Tamura: No problem!
Mr. Kayama: Tamura joined with no prior sales experience and was working remotely from overseas—normally, that would be a huge challenge. But now, a year later, she has grown into one of our top performers. I believe VoicePing played a key role in helping her integrate smoothly and develop her skills.
Turning Client Visions into Reality
What is Reabold’s vision for the future?
Mr. Kayama: Our vision is to be a team that helps make our clients’ dreams a reality. For example, a company in the genomics field might want to expand genetic testing to improve healthcare and reduce disease. We see our role as a partner in achieving that goal. By aligning our vision with our clients’ success, we take great pride in working together to bring their ideas to life. To do that, we will continue honing our skills and growing as a company.
